China and Russia strengthen ties | DW News

Chinese President Xi Jinping is travelling to Russia today at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders have met dozens of times in recent years and are looking to further deepen trade ties between their nations amidst China’s heated trade war with the United States. In an interview with Russian state media ahead of the trip, Xi called Putin his “best and bosom friend,” adding that he cherished their “deep friendship.”
